last day

Friday, September 29th, 2006

today is my last day. i’ve been at this job for five (or is it six?) years (i can never keep track of years) and this is my last day. it feels kind of weird since i’ve spent my (so far) entire post college life working here and now i’m finally moving on. i’m excited, a bit nervous, and i really feel like doing some drawing right now.

here’s a silly make-believe landscape in no relation to the above writing:

vikings

Monday, September 25th, 2006

drawer geeks went up over the weekend and this time around the assignment was vikings. this was a fun week because i was able to get a sneak peek of one of pascal’s drawings and play off of that.

so after i drew this…

…i saw this

…and so i decided to draw this…

…and this:

i think these were the fastest drawings i’ve ever done for drawer geeks (though my elvis one was done pretty quickly). they may not be the greatest things i’ve ever drawn but i think the quick sketchyness of them adds to some of the fun.

i swear. i do draw other things…

hmm… what kind of doodling can i pull out of my grab bag of sketches today. oh! there we go. more pixies!!!

nintendo wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

jen and i are really looking forward to the nintendo wii, or as we like to call it- the nintendo wheeeeeeee!!!!!! it’ll be our christmas present to each other this year along with some of the games. neither of us are big gamers. we just like nintendo. jen especially likes metroid, mario party, and any other game with the word mario in it and i especially like zelda, super smash bros and also any game with the word mario in it. why do i write this? because i just scanned in some sketches of link and zelda! wheeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

i really need to ink and color that one link sketch. it’s just asking for it. sigh… so much to do though…

also, i now have a forum. check it out!

resort sketch

landscape02.jpgspacer.gifeeh… it’s saturday. and i’m at work. and it’s slow. so i thought i’d post something.

this is just a quick brush pen sketch of the view from our room at the disney resort we stayed at last weekend. i was too busy swimming and suffering the wrath of the sun to do much drawing that day, but i did manage to escape to my sketchbook for a bit while jen was showering up before dinner.

more sketching means more piXie

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

yesterday was a productive day. i managed to get two pages (roughly) penciled of my parable story, catalog the zillion of cd’s i’ve had piling up around my office, manage to cook jen dinner (which i don’t do often enough) and finally scan a bunch of stuff from my sketchbooks. that means i can start posting some sketches again.

to start off, some more doodles of everyone’s favorite fictional x-girl- piXie!

ROCK!

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

just got back from an awesome couple of days at disney- hanging out at a resort with jen and my parents and seeing the david crowder band ROCK THE PARK OUT at this year’s night of joy. seriously- my favorite band right now.

because of that, i didn’t get a chance to post my drawing for drawer geeks on friday. this week was sgt rock, a WW1 dc comics military hero. unfortunately, i soon found out i am awful at drawing WW1 military heroes. especially their artillery. so i just drew the sgt as a kid and gave him a super soaker.

sure i cheated, but i least i drew something. :)

and cow & buffalo went up today. i might spin off a little arc out of this one. we’ll see…

kitties and guns

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

i was just informed that my kitty pryde drawing i did a little while back is up on project rooftop. i’m not a costume designer by any means, so it’ll be interesting to see what people think about it strictly from a costume standpoint. dean trippe is also going to be doing a month of guest strips for his awesome butterfly comic in october. i just sent mine off to him so i’ll let everyone know when that’s up.

and here’s a quick drawing, for drawings sake. i’m not really a gun lover. i’m more in the batman mindset of prefering melee weapons when it come to combat. but i just recently finished watching the entire season of firefly and even more recently rewatched silverado again so now i think guns are a little less lame. especially when they’re being held by a female. :)

nachooooooooooooo!!!!!

Friday, September 1st, 2006

just to show i’m not always drawing girls (just most of the time is all) and to have a reason to post, here are a couple of guys- luchadores to be exact. this was just a quick doodle i did the night i saw nacho libre. i don’t even like wrestling, but that movie was hillarious.
