…i sat at home depressed i was sitting at home. :(

well, not entirely. i did stay pretty busy. first off, me and all of the lunchbox funnies guys were asked to provide some guest strips for scott kurtz of pvp fame. and because we at lunchbox all think scott is a super great guy, most of us said yes (that and the promise of increased traffic to our sites is always a good bribe). click here to read mine!

also- i worked on the parable site a bit. the book is completely done, so i thought a little revamp of the site would be nice while we scout for publishers. especially since i won’t have much to update on it till we actually have one.

also- i added my current seed blog comic panels to comicspace in an effort to get more use out of a great community that i rarely ever visit (but should!). once i get around to drawing more of those, i’ll update them on there as well as here.

also- i started playing zelda: twilight princess on wii finally! and it was so worth the wait.

also- i saw the simpsons on friday and thought it was hillarious. and before going to the theater i simpsonized myself!

jen and i are seeing travis tonight in orlando. before the concert we’re going to try to visit one of those 7-elevens they turned into kwik-e-marts. :)

i don’t usually post the work i do for… well, work, but i kinda like the way this one came out.

i was assigned to draw the hookah smoking caterpillar for a drug course at the school i work at. other than that i pretty much had free reign to do what i want. if i ever had the opportunity to draw illustrations for an alice in wonderland book, i’d take it before the queen of hearts could yell, “off with her head!”

so, as i mentioned before, jen and i are the proud parents of a new wii. and one of our favorite games is rayman raving rabbids. it’s got to be one of the funniest designed games i’ve played in a long time. anyhoo, there are these bunnies in the game that crack me up and, since this week’s drawergeeks theme was ‘rabbit’, i couldn’t think of anything else to draw:

unfortunately, i’m all kind of busy right now and had to kinda rush through this one. so it doesn’t do justice to the bunnies at all. maybe i’ll have at them again when i have a little more free time on my hands. still, they were as fun to draw as they are to fight!

this was a commission drawing (yes- i’m taking commissions now) for jean grey. i decided to draw her as phoenix because i think that has to be one of the best superhero costume designs ever.

i saved a bunch of the stages of this as i was working on it. you can see some of my process behind the cut.

i’m back from my NY-MoCCA-Boston trip! and i had a great time. MoCCa is my absolute favoritest convention and the best part about it is meeting so many talented creators and seeing the work they do. there’s just something about the small press comic world that makes me feel so excited to be drawing comics. all i wanted to do when i got back was start creating things right away! unfortunately, jen and i got a Wii instead and have instead spent more time creating Miiis. ah well.

i loved meeting up with a bunch of the lbf guys there who i’ve never actually met in person till now. finding out how nice they all are makes me even happier to be part of such a great collective. but i see no sense in giving any sort of detailed convention report like everyone else who was there has done so much better then me. particularly dean here who created the best convention report ever. here’s a picture of me from it:

i wish i had some sort of drawing to post, but this is really more of an “i just wanted to let you all know i did remember i have blog” kind of post. hopefully some new art later this week!
