HeroesCon is once again almost upon us! This year, the show is twice as big and you’ll be able to find me smack dab in the middle of it at Indie Island table AA-1006. As always, here’s a handy map to show you exactly how to get there.

And HERE is a GIANT map of where that is in relation to the entire floor.

I’ll also be on a panel spotlighting Project: Rooftop Saturday at 2PM. Here are the details for that:

Room 203B
PROJECT ROOFTOP
What do you get when you take some of the most talented artists in the world and challenge them with redesigning an icon? PROJECT: ROOFTOP, the superhero redesign site, is here at Heroes Con, LIVE! Join Dean Trippe and Vito Delsante, two of the popular site’s editors, and their guests, Ron Salas, Joel Priddy, Mike Maihack, Joel Carroll, Joe Quinones, Ming Doyle, and Dan Govar as they discuss costumes, masks, capes and announce a special challenge open exclusively to HeroesCon attendees!

That’s a lot of awesome (I hope there’s enough chairs). It will also be the first place to see the “super” piece I painted for the annual HeroesCon auction Sat night. So you won’t want to miss it.

Other than that, I’ll just be hanging out at my table. I’ll have a limited amount of Operation Space Cat books as well as some old and new prints. If I look a little sad it’s because this is the first year Jen and Prime won’t be with me and I will miss them. So make sure to stop by and cheer me up by buying stuff. :)

Feels good to end all the character commissions that I took back in January with Damian Wayne and Stephanie Brown (as Batgirl)- two characters I’ve been meaning to draw for forever. Apparently I also seem to enjoy drawing characters annoyed with things atop of their head. Somebody’s about to lose a limb.

I have no idea when I plan on opening up commissions again. Not for a while since I’m about to drown myself in CiS Book 2 production. Best thing to stay informed is simply follow me on any of the various social networks listed on my site.

Remember five years ago when everyone (and by everyone I mean a few hundred cartoonists) were drawing how they looked as a teen compared to how they look now- or uh.. five years ago? Jen and I do! We took part in the meme during our fifth wedding anniversary. Just a couple of weeks ago we celebrated our tenth and thought it’d be fun to draw us again–now five years later–to see how things might have changed. Results below!

This exercise is loads of fun. I encourage everyone to try it if they haven’t already!

I’ve been getting word that people have started receiving their Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! card games (and art books!) that I illustrated in the mail, so here are the last ten remaining goblins and fairies I never posted.

For those who missed out on last year’s Kickstarter campaign, the card game, puzzle, and art book are all for sale at the Game Salute website. I’ve been told the art book is a limited print run, so quantities of that are uh… well, limited.

Toph

So happy someone choose Toph for a character commission. Lots of fun drawing this. :)

Character commission for Cleo (in space). :)

Sky Pirates

Character commission for a couple of sky pirates. Had a blast with this one. Even came up with a great story surrounding these two that I’ll likely never have the time to draw.

Nick and Nora

Character commission for Nick and Nora Charles (with Asta) from the Thin Man series of films.

Draw Me A Robot is a fun blog that spotlights an artist’s hardware and workspace. You are also expected to draw a robot.

Click the link above for a short 4Q interview and some pics of my workspace!

Now that it’s almost summer, seems like a good a time as any to put last years Batgirl/Supergirl christmas comic up for bid! (Actually I have a family vacation coming up and we need the extra cash).

Scans of the originals are below and the winner also gets a full-color print of the finished comic. I found the thumbnails for this too, so I’m throwing those in as well. Auction is HERE and ends next Monday at 8PM EST. Good luck!

Still making my way through character commissions. This is one for a client’s old City of Heroes character, Twilight Torch.

For those wondering, I still have 7 left in the pipes. I hope to finish all of those by mid-Jun, after which my sole focus will be the 2nd CiS book. If I feel progress on that is going smoothly, I’ll open commissions again a few months after that. For those still waiting, I REALLY appreciate your patience. I had gotten more commissions than I had anticipated so it’s taking me a bit longer get through them.

Character commission for Black Rock Shooter. For those who have no idea who that is, enjoy this drawing of a scantily clad, pigmentless, glowing eyed girl with an enormous cannon.

Raven

Character commission for Teen Titan’s Raven. Kind of a purple theme going on in these commissions lately.

Jaina Solo

Character commission for Jaina Solo. WOO EPISODE VII!

Domino

Getting back into the swing of drawing weekly character commissions. Here’s one for Domino (from X-Force, X-Men, etc.)

I’m excited to announce my first ever convention sketchbook, Operation Space Cat (vol 1)! 48 pages of some of my favorite b&w scribbles, sketches, and illustrations over the past few years.

I only printed an extremely low run of 200 of these. First place to grab one will be MegaCon this weekend, but I plan on offering a limited amount of them online when I get back. The books will be priced at $10 and come signed & numbered.

Speaking of MegaCon, I will be at my usual table (Artist Alley, White 7) with all my usual goodies (prints, Cleopatra in Space, an ultra-cute one-year-old [not for sale], etc). Here’s a zoomed-in map of where that table is exactly (click to embiggen).

Always have a blast at this show. And LOVE that’s it’s local (no traveling!). Hope to see some of you there!
