drawergeeks’ topic last week was elves. this is another one for my giant pink heart series. ;)

elf-luv.jpg

also, most of you (i hope) know i do a weekly comic called cow & buffalo. well, today i just put up the quindrupel-sized ending to a story arc that’s been going on since september of 2006. now that we know the story actually has an end, it might be fun to go back and read the whole thing from the beginning. it’s sixty-four strips in total, not counting all the places cow teleported off to over the last month. here’s where it all began!

and, i’ve said this elsewhere- but a HUGE THANKS to all the artists that put up with cow as he invaded your comics and/or websites. you totally helped make journey cow more awesome than i ever intended. in case you missed the event, the full list of all the comics cow zapped himself into can be viewed here.

enjoy some milk

i’m going to be part of a couple new web collectives starting up this month. i’m super excited about both of them and can’t wait to announce what they are. for now though, here is an image i finished last night for one of ‘em:

c&b-lunchbox.jpg

so last year i
:

became more public about my faith in Christ.
started to act on that.
started a christian comic anthology.
got mentioned on drawn!.
joined drawergeeks.
drew a backup story for a comic.
gained a new niece.
finally went to comic con (and met many friends!).
started a new job (which i love).
reached 127 strips of cow & buffalo.
published a book (yes! i did! more on that later!).
saw two of my best friends get married.
made many new friends both online and off.
drew everyday, 365 days in a row.
created more illustrations in one year then i have the entire time i’ve been out of college.
discovered pocky.
started up seed again (albeit slowly)
and created this blog.

it felt like a great 2006. and no doubt it all stems from those first two things i mentioned. chances are, troubled times are ahead, but i still have the feeling 2007 will be better then the last. :)

robots!

wheeee! i’m back! maaaan, what an awesome vacation. jen took something like 560 pictures while we vacationed at disney and at our friends’ wedding (disney wedding = best wedding ever!), so she might have some stuff up on flikr soon. i’ll let you know.

i was spending more time playing video games, spending time with old friends, enjoying park attractions and napping in hammocks then i was taking pictures but i did end up drawing some robots. i drew about one of these silly things a day while at the resort.

robots01.jpg

eventually i got bored of this and wondered what cow and buffalo would look like as robots…

robots-c&b.jpg

now i have lotssss of catching up to do. it’s good to be back, but maaan, vacation is nice. it’s a good thing i have another little mini one to go to in a couple of weeks!

in retrospect, it’s been a very great year. one of my best. :) i’ll retrospect more though when it’s completely over.

oh! and happy birthday, Jesus!

cow & buffalo are back

cow & buffalo resumes regular weekly updates today. today’s strip has an extra twelve panels to make up for the missing weeks as well as being the conclusion to the whole sandwich making/time travel saga i’ve been writing for almost a year. let me know what you all thought of it. next week it’s back to normalcy. well, as normal as a cartoon about a cow, buffalo and their pet dinosaur can get.

there’s a cow & buffalo drive by review on the gigcast. this was the first time i’ve ever just sat and listened to two strangers talk about my work, so it was kinda fun to listen to. plus they had some nice things to say. :)

here’s the direct link.

cow & buffalo is up, this time with more cow & buffalo!

i’m going to try to post a sketch a day this week. old sketches, sure, but at least some of me own art to show on me own blog. since c&b went up today, i thought i’d start by posting this silly little page out of my last sketchbook. this’ll be the oldest sketch i’ll show. it was done waaaay back on the second of january, the day after i decided i was going to draw everyday this year.

c&b01.jpg

earlier this week i also updated my illustration page. mostly drawer geek stuff, so if you’ve been regularly visiting this blog then you’ve probably seen most of the stuff in there already. but there might be some stuff in there that you’ve missed if you want to check it out.

100

today’s cow & buffalo is my 100th cow & buffalo strip i’ve ever done. i’m not sure if that’s really that big a deal or not, but it does makes me feel good to know i’ve kept with this strip from week to week without any stumbles. in fact, i’ve been really happy with these last couple months worth of strips so that’s personally a nice feeling as well. i’ve been told i should have done something special for this occasion, but i was sort of in the middle of a storyline and didn’t want to pause or distract from it. who knows? maybe i’ll do something special for number 200. :)

i’ll be enjoying some time with family and friends today as i more appropriately celebrate my birthday from yesterday. i suppose i can secretly celebrate this little feat as well.
