true love brawls

fan art week on the buffalog continues! only this time i drew a  fan comic.  a NINTENDO fan comic! a super smash bros fan comic to be more specific. and it’s up on the super awesome video game fan comic site LIFE METER today! read it now!

like my last post, this comic is kinda fan specific so don’t feel bad if you don’t completely “get” it. but i’m still pretty proud of it, especially since i completed it in only two weeks (this is unusual for me) and is an idea i’ve had doggy paddling around my head for almost THREE YEARS. plus, i love drawing kirby.

EDIT: for those unfamiliar with the game, this might lend some clarification on that last panel.

it’s my first art post of 2009! here is some metroid art i did for drawergeeks‘ classic nintendo themed topic up today.

i don’t play a lot of video games, but man i love nintendo. it’s the only consule i’ve ever owned, mainly so i can just play the next zelda (the best!) or mario games. as much as i love the awesome cast of characters nintendo has created though, i’ve honestly never played metroid. but it just so happens to be jen’s all-time favorite video game franchise- so this is for her. it was also good practice at drawing tech, which i don’t ever draw. ever. but it was still kinda fun. hopefully i didn’t offend any samus loyalists out there by giving my own slight take to her armor.

(oh- and jen and i’s current nintendo distraction is lego star wars: the complete saga. yeah!)

i’m really into ingrid michaelson right now (is it too late to add  be ok to my best of 2008 list?). and this video is super cute.

so, as i mentioned before, jen and i are the proud parents of a new wii. and one of our favorite games is rayman raving rabbids. it’s got to be one of the funniest designed games i’ve played in a long time. anyhoo, there are these bunnies in the game that crack me up and, since this week’s drawergeeks theme was ‘rabbit’, i couldn’t think of anything else to draw:

unfortunately, i’m all kind of busy right now and had to kinda rush through this one. so it doesn’t do justice to the bunnies at all. maybe i’ll have at them again when i have a little more free time on my hands. still, they were as fun to draw as they are to fight!

i finally inked and colored that link drawing i drew a while back. and today, it’s on the awesome video game comic site, lifemeter!

jen and i finally saved up enough money (or rather the government did for us- thank you tax returns!) to go out and buy a wii. and we were all excited to go get one this wiikend until we found out they are sold out everywhere! gah! guess we have to wait till the summer. which i guess is a good thing since i have plenty of work i should be doing instead of the hours i’d be spending in front of my tv playing twilight princess.

jen and i are really looking forward to the nintendo wii, or as we like to call it- the nintendo wheeeeeeee!!!!!! it’ll be our christmas present to each other this year along with some of the games. neither of us are big gamers. we just like nintendo. jen especially likes metroid, mario party, and any other game with the word mario in it and i especially like zelda, super smash bros and also any game with the word mario in it. why do i write this? because i just scanned in some sketches of link and zelda! wheeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

i really need to ink and color that one link sketch. it’s just asking for it. sigh… so much to do though…
