fantastica

gold star– or gold udder… i think we give gold udders here. let me check… we do? okay. yes. gold udder to anyone who can guess why the title of this week’s strip is called fantastica (hint: i could have called it something similar but i didn’t want to confuse it with something else).

okay- BIG things in store for next week (and the weeks beyond). i can’t wait!

Fantastica is from The Neverending Story book – it’s the world created from people’s dreams…a simple explanation without getting too detailed. So this comic stems from your mind, so it’s Fantastica. ;) Very clever. “The neverending stooooooorryyyyyyyyy!” (Now that song is stuck in my head….)

According to Wikipedia, Fantastica is a boundless fantasy realm in the book The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. :)

Must i even entertain my brain with such a paltry assessment!? Fantastica (Phantásien in the German original) is the boundless fantasy realm made famous by the book The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. It is a world created by the dreams of humanity,(given the name Fantasia in the movie so conventional minds could understand it) given physical form and Natures of their own. Evidently these Natures are as inviolable as ours; when Bastian Balthazar Bux tries to manipulate them by means of the Auryn, he fails to produce any but negative effects. It is a land with no borders. But oddly enough I can’t help but think you could be referring to Pseudologica Fantastica in which there is the compulsive need to lie consistently and about everything, however inconsequential, even if it yields no benefits to the liar. Whereas both cases could make an argument and both concepts could yield to this comic, I believe synonymous & equivalent duo meaning could be interpreted. -myokom

Nice. I see I am late on answering. Cabbie should be careful, capes can be dangerous, I’ve seen the Incredibles.

“NO CAPES!!!!!!!!” (Edna Mode – The Incredibles).
    :D

alexiss- you are correct! also, this story (arc)’s finalization is dependent on some factors that will be breaking the fourth wall so to speak. ALSO- a foreshadowing of cabbie’s future superhero identity (there are many right answers here)

GK- ah, wikipedia. you gotta love it. i was gonna use fantasia- like they did in the movie, but i don’t want it confused with the disney films of the same name. plus this comic is kinda literary so it makes sense to use the literature version of the realm.

matt- i would have also excepted, “cow & buffalo is a fantastic comic.” :)

andrew- i know! cabbie should know better!

bruna- it’s one of my favorite movies you know. :D
