first snowfall of the season
first off- yes, it’s milk chocolate.
second- these last two strips have been kind of weird for me to write. as many of you know, i live in tampa, fl. and as all of you should know, there’s not much snow here in tampa, fl. actually, there’s no snow at all. still, i like to draw the stuff and i like to be able to put cow and buffalo and crew into it’s soft, fluffy, white environment. but i kinda had to dredge up some childhood memories of snow (i lived up north for most of my life) to draw this week’s strip. i loved the first snowfall of the year and i remember i couldn’t wait to leap out and play in it. what i mostly remember was it being very cold. what i secondly remember was it being very wet. as i got older i just remember simply hating the stuff because it meant i had to shovel it or be scared for my life while driving on it. but what i most fondly remember about snow, after hours making snowmen or snow balls or whatever, was drinking hot chocolate by the fire as my hands, face and feet warmed back up. and that, kids, is the origin of today’s strip.
happy winter!

You can’t enjoy the hot chocholate without being cold in the first place

I think my best (worst) experience with snow involved it being yellow…
Hot Chocolate… mm, I may have to go make a cup now.
Also, finished up reading Adventures in Sandwich Making (which was fantastic), and then went ahead and read everything else, so now I’m all caught up.
Though now I feel slightly stupid for calling Cabbie, “Hippo” last week. Ah well.
..Mm, hot chocolate..

I agree with Karpolo, you have to be frozen so that the hot chocolate thaws you out. It makes it 10X more enjoyable.
Living near Tampa, I too remember those boyhood snow days, and I think you hit two things on the head. One, the first real snow was always the best and two, the older you got, the less fun the snow became. You left out scrapping the windows of your car before you could drive anywhere! Of course, when you were young, nothing beat a snow day to keep you home from school!

Here in Sao Paulo/Brazil we don’t have snow. just on the south part of the country that people can freeze decently.
But I can always choke on some of the best polution of all times here! you have to know how to look on the bright/gray side of things, is my filosofy of life. But I love in here, it’s a great, big, noisy city!

It’s only cold when it’s minus -45*C. Lately it has been cold, I like it cold though, I’d live in a place where its -30*C to -45*C all my life if I could. I love the cold……

I LOVE HOT CHOCOLATE!!! Did you know that the first chocolate beverage is believed to have been created by the Mayan peoples around 2000 years ago. Mayans ruled! I’m just saying… hot chocolate is awesome!
